Which hospitals are empanelled?+
AIIMS branches, government hospitals, large private chains (Apollo, Fortis, Max - selected branches), district hospitals, and specialty centers. Check official list.
Can hospital refuse Ayushman?+
Empanelled hospitals cannot refuse if treatment is in package list. Complain at 14555 or pmjay.gov.in if denied. Hospital may lose empanelment for refusal.
What documents at hospital?+
Ayushman Card + Aadhaar + Family ID. Hospital generates pre-auth from PMJAY portal. Treatment cashless once approved. No bills paid by patient.
Emergency treatment without card?+
Hospital can begin treatment first, get card later. PMJAY portal allows emergency authorization. Family member can produce documents within 48 hours.
Outpatient covered?+
OPD usually NOT covered. Day-care procedures (dialysis, chemotherapy) covered. Most surgeries with hospitalization covered. Diagnostic tests during admission covered.
Ayushman + Insurance both?+
Yes, can have both. Use Ayushman first (cashless). For amounts above ₹5L family limit, use private insurance. Coordination of benefits possible.
