Tatkal vs Normal passport?+
Tatkal: 1-3 working days, ₹2,000 extra. Normal: 30-45 days. Tatkal needs additional documents (3 IDs) + verification. Both are 10-year valid.

Address proof (Aadhaar, electricity bill, rental agreement), birth certificate (or 10th certificate), 2 photos, ID proof. Plus PAN/voter ID. Originals required at PSK.
Police verification for passport?+
Required for first-time applicants. Police visits address within 7-15 days. Carry original documents. Required again for address change. Pre-verified for renewals.
Passport renewal process?+
Apply 1 year before expiry. Same process as new. ₹1,500 normal. No police verification if address unchanged. Old passport returned at PSK. New passport in 15-30 days.
ECNR vs ECR passport?+
ECR: Education below 10th, may need emigration check for some countries. ECNR: 10th pass+, no restrictions. Most graduates get ECNR by default.
Minor passport requirements?+
5 years validity. ₹1,000 fee. Both parents present at PSK. Birth certificate mandatory. Annexure D needed if separated parents. Photos with white background.
