What is HTTP status code?+
HTTP status code is server's response indicator. 200 = OK, 301/302 = redirect, 404 = not found, 500 = server error. Critical for SEO and debugging.
Why check URL status code?+
Verify pages work, find broken links (404), check redirects (301/302), debug server errors (5xx), monitor uptime, audit SEO health.
What does 200 OK mean?+
200 means request successful. Page loaded correctly. This is what you want for all important pages.
What does 404 Not Found mean?+
404 means page doesn't exist on server. Bad for SEO if from legitimate URLs. Set up 301 redirects or restore the page.
What about 301 vs 302 redirects?+
301 = Permanent redirect (passes SEO juice). 302 = Temporary redirect (does NOT pass SEO). Always use 301 for permanent moves.
What does 500 Internal Server Error mean?+
Server-side error - your code has issues, database connection failed, or server overloaded. Check server logs immediately.
How fast is this status check?+
Usually responds in 1-3 seconds. Slow servers may take up to 10 seconds. Times out at 30 seconds.
Can I check multiple URLs at once?+

Is response time included?+
Yes! We show total response time in milliseconds. Anything over 1000ms (1 second) is slow. Under 200ms is excellent.
What headers are returned?+
All HTTP response headers: Content-Type, Server, Cache-Control, Set-Cookie, Content-Length, Date, etc. Useful for SEO and debugging.
Why is my URL showing CORS error?+
Some servers block direct requests. Our tool runs server-side so should work for most URLs. CORS errors typically only happen in browser-only checks.
Can this detect honeypot or fake URLs?+
Tool reports actual server response. If server returns 200 for fake URLs, we'll show 200. For SEO audits, ensure real content matches the 200 response.
