Pursuing higher education in Computer Science has been my long-standing aspiration, fueled by my deep interest in machine learning.

My journey in computer science began in Class 8 when I first wrote a simple chatbot in Python. Since then, I have completed B.Tech from IIT Bombay with a CGPA of 8.7/10, and authored 2 research papers on natural language processing.

During my third year, I worked on a sentiment analysis project for Indian regional languages — a deeply underserved area. The challenges of low-resource NLP, cultural nuances, and code-mixing fascinated me. I realized that to make truly impactful systems, I need rigorous training in advanced ML methods.

Stanford's CS program is uniquely positioned for my goals. Prof. Christopher Manning's NLP group, the rich seminar culture, and access to industry collaborations align perfectly with my research interests. The flexible curriculum will let me deepen ML theory while applying it to real-world problems.

My short-term goal is to publish at NeurIPS/ACL during my graduate studies. Long-term, I aim to build NLP systems for India's 22 official languages, returning to academia or starting a research lab focused on linguistic equity.

I am confident that Stanford will provide the ideal environment to nurture my academic and professional aspirations in Computer Science.
